The tablecloth is made from Termeh, a finely woven textile known for its elegant patterns and smooth, silk-like drape. This piece is made using rayon, a regenerated cellulose fibre that offers softness, shine, and durability.

📜 About Traditional Termeh (Historical Background)

Termeh is a historic woven textile traditionally produced in specialised workshops. Creating Termeh requires long-fibre wool or fine fibres and is typically woven by a skilled craftsperson with the assistance of a helper known as a “Goushvareh-kesh.”
Because of the meticulous process, only 25–30 cm of fabric may be produced per day.

Traditional colour palettes include shades such as jujube red, light red, green, orange, and black. For centuries, travellers, historians, and textile experts have admired the craftsmanship and detailed patterns found in Termeh weaving. The art form reached a high point during the Safavid era, when weaving techniques like Zarbaf and Termeh were significantly refined. Today, only a small number of workshops continue producing this textile using classic methods.
